Terry Parkins first started telling his stories of the adventures of Brenden, Laser, Casper and Old Wise Bee ‘Hummer’ to entertain his children, who later encouraged him to develop the short stories into a more complex and expansive tale.

50% of all the proceeds from the sale of Hummer are being donated to help protect the future of Bees worldwide, by supporting The British Beekeepers Association and International Bee Research. Order your signed copy

Huge congratulations to Lisa Flanagan and Samantha Arnold from our Chippenham branch who completed a 21 mile Walk of Life on Saturday 14th May from Devizes to Bath.

They were raising awareness and funds for Bath’s Royal United Hospital Cancer Care Unit, and Geriatric Ward.

Lisa and Samantha completed the walk in just over seven hours, which was a great achievement considering the warm weather.

Well done to them both!

Matt Frith has never taken part in a marathon but next month he will be running in the Milton Keynes Marathon to help raise money for the Help Izzy Walk Campaign.

PSP Chippenham table tennis pair of Terry Parkins and Jerry Musselwhite struck gold at the recent World Corporate Games in Liverpool representing PSP Insurance and Financial Solutions.

Parkins, fresh from representing England in the World Veterans Championships in New Zealand and Musselwhite, from a record 14th Mendip Singles Title didn’t drop a game in winning the over 40s doubles. Parkins reversed last year’s UK result to beat Musselwhite in the over 50s semi -final and went on to claim the Gold in style.

PSP’s powerful overall team of 6 dominated the table tennis with 6 gold, one silver and two bronze, taking the overall table tennis championship comfortably.

The World Corporate Games also have 8 Championship Divisions spanning all 22 sports, with the largest being for over 200 athletes from an organisation. PSP underlined their dominance by also taking the Championship across all sports for 6 to 10 athletes.

Musselwhite summed it up by saying ‘We thought we’d be competitive with our four men all from our PSP British League team. Our two women were brilliant and won all their events, holding off a strong Turkish challenge . Winning the Division 2 Championship across all sports was the icing on the cake!’

PSP’s Lee Smith won a Twitter competition to meet David Beckham.
